We thought it was time to draw another animal portrait. This cute baby raccoon is so precious and will be fun to draw. All you animal lovers will enjoy this for sure. The expression on the baby's face is so wonderful. It will be a great opportunity to practice those Five Pencil Method Core Techniques and brush up on your hair/fur drawing skills.

Art Studio Classic Membership Class lesson for this week - Raccoon Baby - part 12: We worked on the body more, and getting the values to show up in the whiskers and hair better. We added darker values to get more contrast and depth. We are attempting to make part of the Raccoon come off the page and look more 3D. This is the final lesson so signing the drawing is a must. The challenge with this subject is using the fur to show contour and value. We spent quite a bit of time on the nose and eyes because those proportions are very important to the remainder of the drawing. We wanted to focus on the personality of this very cute and endearing creature.
